My primary purpose for joining the league was to meet other players in my handicap range and it has been great. I have continued the friendships I made and have played with many of them.
Jeff Bergmann, Windermere
I thought the league was a lot of fun and I look forward to participating next time around.

The Canongate Golf League was a great experience! It was my first time at competitive golf. I really enjoyed the match play format. I won some... I lost some. I got in the playoffs as a wildcard. I ended up winning 1st place in my flight. My hat is off to how well/even the handicapping was done. Most matches went down to the wire. If you want to see how intimidating a 3-footer is on the 18th hole....give the Canongate Golf League a try.
I will see you in the spring.
Bud Davis, Canongate member
We really like the league. - We were able to meet some great guys and had some fun, competitive matches. I thought the season ending tourney was very good with some good prizes-- we will play again this year in the league
Jeff Padlo, Flat Creek

Mike Hayob, Flat Creek
The fall league was my first league play ever and I will sign up for every one I can in the future. I met seven great golfers (even though we are all flight #5!) and will likely play with some of them during the rest of the year. Keep up the great work and sign me up for the spring tourney!
Brad Coggin, Canongate I member
My partner and I had a good time playing in the 2007 Fall league.
We are looking forward to the Spring CGL.
Greg Queen, Chapel Hills/Mirror Lake
What a great idea for members. I personally had the best time in my golfing life. Getting to know other golfers with the same ability and experiencing competitive golf on this level for the first time was wonderful. I am looking forward to the next season.
Greg Hester, Georgia National/Heron Bay member

Awesome, great experience! I will do this again and again.
George Alderman, Chapel Hills/Mirror Lake
The Fall 2007 season was a great experience for me. It allowed me to meet and play with other golfers that I would have not met otherwise. All matches were competitive, but friendly. I look forward to next season.
John Whitworth, Heron Bay/Georgia National

Bob Truitt, Flat Creek
The league play was good - well organized and an easy to follow website.
Jerry Griffith, Canongate
I had a great time and would definitely do it again…these types of competitive events are great for the members. We need to do more of them.
Vern Schmitz, White Oak/Summergrove
This was some of the most fun I’ve ever had playing golf. I’ve never had the opportunity to play golf competitively and this was a great experience, I can’t wait to do it again. The league was set up in a very fair manner and I honestly can’t think of any suggestions to make it better or more fun. It was very smoothly and professionally run
David Humer, Chapel Hills/Mirror Lake
From my perspective, I thought the golf league was a great success. It allowed me to meet other Canongate members and play different courses. Coming from a casual golfer and being put in a match play format was exciting…I fully intend on competing not only in the singles, but I will be in the team event next time.
Steve Toland, River Forest member
Overall, I really enjoyed participating in the first Canongate golf league. I thought the league was very organized and well run. I really liked how everything was tracked on line and was very easy to use and review…I will participate again and am looking forward to meeting new people to play with.
Jeff Treutel, White Oak/Summergrove
It was a great way of interacting with others. I thought it was a great success.
David Fields, Heron Bay/Georgia National
My experience with the golf league was fantastic. I was so impressed with the people who ran the tournament. Every time I had a question, it was answered almost immediately. I also enjoyed the statistics sheets. It was nice to see where you stood and your average for par 5’s, par 4, etc. against the field. Really can’t think of anything I would change.
Janet MacGregor, Flat Creek member
I thoroughly enjoyed the CGL. It accomplished a couple of goals. I got out more, met other golfers with similar difficulties at the game and improved a little bit.
Ronny Duncan, Flat Creek member
Great format and fun…looking forward to the one thisMarch. This is the best thing Canongate has going right now, and my golfing buddies that are non-canongate members are jealous.
Jim Albers, Flat Creek Member
What an opportunity we have been given to take our love of the game into the competitive area. The C/G Golf League gave us just that; an opportunity to meet new golf friends and compete in a fun environment. I only hope that more ladies will join the league this year. Remember, you'll be playing with ladies of similar handicaps and you can set up your matches at your convenience. Come on gals, let's get out there and support the activities that our Club is giving us.
Carole Cavanaugh, White Oak member
I had a great time during this season's league play. Having the opportunity to play in a match play format was exciting and gave us the opportunity to relate with the "big boys."
Mark Anthony, Canongate Member
The Canongate Golf League provided a great environment of competition with other avid golfers. It was captivating to scout an opponent, meet a new person, play a competitive round and then watch the website to see how you stood.
